Since 2019, BUMAX has supplied and managed a large stock of fasteners for a leading UK manufacturer of subsea equipment that required high-quality stainless steel fasteners, with European traceability and product certification.
The manufacturer of subsea hydraulic equipment first approached BUMAX in 2019 following a new project win. The specification requirements from the customer demanded high quality A4 fasteners, with full European traceability and 3.1 product certification.

The BUMAX solution
Following a meeting with the customer, it was clear that the BUMAX® product range would satisfy all of these requirements. In addition, despite the wide range of dimensions required, all parts were available directly from stock at short notice.
The customer’s primary interest was the BUMAX® 88 range, although it was apparent that BUMAX technical expertise in stainless steel materials and high-performance bolting could potentially help the customer enhance performance and efficiency in other areas of their product portfolio.

“BUMAX products are manufactured to stringent product specifications at our production facility in central Sweden, using only premium European material. This helps us to ensure very consistent and reliable performance,” explains Nimeka de Silva, BUMAX Development Manager, UK & Ireland. “BUMAX also offers full batch traceability, testing and 3.1 certification.”
This gave the customer the peace of mind they required regarding the level of quality, consistency and performance that they could expect. The approval of BUMAX fasteners on the project not only helped to improve product quality but has also reduced the amount of uncertainty and administration related to the customer’s own product quality processes.

Global presence and customer collaboration
For ease and cost efficiency, the customer’s stock of BUMAX® 88 is held and managed locally by Bufab UK Ltd, a BUMAX sister company. This not only frees up the customer’s own stock inventory but also removes the need for them to actively manage the supply and delivery of BUMAX fasteners themselves.
