Beyond-standard mechanical properties and corrosion resistance
BUMAX 88 is a premium A4/316L stainless steel grade with higher corrosion resistance than conventional A4/316 fasteners (e.g. A4-80), while providing strength equivalent to 8.8 carbon steel. The grade’s corrosion resistance makes it suitable for various applications – from marine to process industries – and it offers higher ductility and fatigue resistance than standard stainless steel fasteners.
BUMAX 88 fasteners are available with Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) pre-approval Particular Material Appraisal (PMA), which makes them suitable for pressure equipment and systems. BUMAX 3.1 PED certification can be provided on request, helping engineers to comply with the design and manufacture of pressure equipment in accordance with PED 2014/68/EU.

BUMAX 88 fasteners are used for water jets, sub-sea equipment, pumps, valves, wind turbines, high-pressure equipment, nuclear plants, submarines, particle accelerators and many other applications where standard commodity A4-80 fasteners are inadequate.
BUMAX 88 products are highly consistent and predictable in their performance. This is important for precision applications when a consistent end product is required. Our fasteners ensure greater reliability and have a significantly longer lifespan than standard A4-80 fasteners.
