High-strength and high temperature resistance
BUMAX HE is engineered for high-temperature applications, offering superior resistance to ageing, gas oxidation, creep and loss of strength than conventional products. While standard steel and stainless steel grades can lose their strength or become brittle under extreme heat, BUMAX HE serves as a cost-effective alternative to nickel-based alloys such as Inconel.
HE is an A286 material, precipitation hardened for good strength and creep resistance at operating temperatures up to 700°C/1,300°F, and can cope with prolonged use at temperatures above 300°C/570°F. As an austenitic stainless steel material, the grade also offers good toughness at very low temperatures and benefits from low magnetic permeability.
