Stainless steel fasteners for the most corrosive applications
Our BUMAX® 88 and BUMAX® 109 flagship fastener ranges provide greater corrosion resistance than standard A4-80 products – making them suitable for applications such as marine and processing industries that require higher corrosion resistance.
For highly corrosive environments, our super duplex grades, such as BUMAX® SDX 109, provide exceptional resistance to crevice, pitting and stress corrosion. Grades such as BUMAX® SA can surpass the corrosion resistance of super duplex materials, even at elevated temperatures. We offer other special grades that offer super corrosion resistance, depending on the nature of the application.
Advice when selecting a corrosion resistant fastener
- Evaluate the environment and likelihood of accumulated deposits.
- Use a product design that minimizes crevices and allows rain to wash away deposits.
- Use a stainless steel fastener with equivalent or higher corrosion resistance than the component being fastened.
- Avoid joining materials with a large difference in electrode potential.
