Very high strength and excellent corrosion resistance
BUMAX DX 129 is an advanced high-strength grade that combines excellent corrosion resistance, with very high mechanical strength, equivalent to 12.9 carbon steel. BUMAX DX 129 does not suffer risks commonly associated with high-tensile carbon steel fasteners, such as low ductility and internal hydrogen embrittlement.
With a tensile strength of min 1,200 MPa and a yield strength min 1,080 MPa, the grade can replace coated 12.9 carbon steel bolts in demanding applications with excellent results. Despite its high strength, elongation is comparable with A4-80 (minimum 0.3 x d).
BUMAX DX 129 offers excellent corrosion resistance with a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) of >34, compared with standard stainless steel. The grade also offers very good fatigue properties.
